Holi parties are parties that are celebrated in moments of joy, since that is what they mainly want to transmit. They are characterized by the use of colored powders and water that is thrown among the attendees and that, in its origin was performed on the occasion of the arrival of spring, although today its use is carried out in parties and festivals.
In this type of parties we must take into account the number of attendees at the event, the space in which we are going to perform, the atmosphere, a stage accompanied by a DJ or the budget in which we must not skimp and establish a bag of colored powder per person. These are some of the points that we must take into account if we want to succeed with our Holi party.
It has been celebrated for several years now, and it is generally associated with moments of joy and happiness since it usually accompanies mass races as well as solidarity events, either for peace or for some kind of disease in particular.
Surely you know what we are talking about, indeed, we are talking about the famous holi parties or as they are commonly known, painting parties.
These parties came to our culture relatively recently, which is why it is normal to think that they were created two days ago, however, they have many years of history.
Holi festivals are a type of Hindu celebration whose origin goes back to the beginnings of this culture. The initial origin of this is the victory of the god Vishnu before Holika (the incarnation of evil), symbolizing the victory of good over evil and is the reason why Indians celebrate it with a rain of colors. In addition, this festival also serves to welcome spring. Precisely for this reason, it is celebrated around February or early March, when spring begins in India.
This theme is really fun and is a claim in festivals or parties, causing the true meaning of this has been lost, resulting in a somewhat excessive and inconsistent use of the celebration.
The original celebration essentially consists of throwing brightly colored powder and colored water at each other, as a sign of happiness for the arrival of spring. These powders try to emulate the cheerful colors of the flowers that will be born during the coming season. It is a magical moment of joy, fun, music and dance, but above all spiritual.
The celebration is held to celebrate a Hindu religious legend that has become popular among non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as among people from other communities. It is celebrated mainly in India, Nepal and other regions of the world with significant populations of Hindus or people of Indian origin.
Legend tells of King Hiranyakashipu and his son Prahlad. Once upon a time there was a demon king named Hiranyakashyap who won the kingdom of the earth. He was so selfish, that he ordered everyone in his kingdom to worship only him.
However, to his great disappointment, his son Prahlad refused to worship his father, worshipping Lord Naarayana instead. Hiranyakashyap tried several times to kill him for his disloyalty, but Lord Vishnu always saved him. It is at that time that Hiranyakashyap asked his sister, Holika, to enter into a blazing fire with Prahlad on her lap. Hiranyakashyap knew that Holika had an advantage, whereby she could enter the fire unharmed. Holika betrayed young Prahlad by convincing her to sit on his lap and she herself sat in the fire. Legend has it that Holika had to pay the price for her sinister wish with her life.
Precisely that is the reason for the celebration of this holiday, the death of Holika and therefore the triumph of good over evil. In fact the name of this holiday is dedicated to her.
When organizing a Holi themed party, it is important that you have previously a forecast or a study regarding the party to be held. That is to say a small analysis that presents approximately how many people will attend the event as well as the space, decoration ... Being a party so full of color, we run the risk of falling short and in that case the party will achieve the desired goal.
Once we have our approximate analysis we should pay special attention to the following elements:
You need to find an open or very large space, where people can throw their powders into the air causing incredible visual effects among our attendees. Also, space will be necessary to enjoy it to the fullest.
Set up a good stage accompanied by a dj, music and lights in order to create a jovial fun and celebratory atmosphere.
Scarcity or skimping on expenses in this party is not an option, if we skimp too much we run the risk of celebrating an unremarkable event. The ideal is to provide at least 1 bag of holi powder to each attendee.
Regarding the protagonists of the event, the colored powders or Holi powders, we must be careful as well as take a few precautions to avoid any unforeseen event that could ruin the party.
We must make sure that these are not toxic, remember that this will be in contact with our skin. In the same way, it will be necessary to make sure that these are not flammable to avoid causing any accidents to our guests.

1. In a bowl we introduce all the amount of cornstarch that we need.
2. Dilute several drops of coloring in the water and then pour it little by little over the cornstarch until a kind of dough is formed. The point of this one, we will be able to verify it by sticking it with force to the mixture and noticing that it does not allow entrance of any object.
3. Let it dry for at least 1 or 2 days or until it has solidified as a compact powder.
4. With the help of a spoon, separate the pieces of powder and introduce them in the blender to dissolve them.
